At the End of Myself: A Choice to Trust

I’ve come to the end of myself and I feel I just don’t know what to do.

I feel vulnerable.

I feel alone.

I feel confused.

Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, [1] you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. Psalm 139:7-10

I know that you are here. I know that you are will me. However, I do not know why I am here.

Why am I here?

I feel stuck between the wilderness and the promised land and this transition is scary. What am I supposed to do today?

I know something is coming that I must be prepared for but I don’t know what it is.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT

Here I am, LORD.

You have my attention. What is it that you desire me to do?

And His response…

I don’t want you to “do” anything. I just want you to rest. I just want you to look at my and enjoy me as I bride would enjoy her bridegroom.

Rest.

Rest in the fact that I know the end from the beginning. I know why I have placed you here.

The end of you, is the beginning of me. At your death, so comes resurrection.

I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Galatians 2:20

Will you take me at My Word? Will you TRUST that I am good?

Keep trusting in the Lord and do what is right in his eyes.
Fix your heart on the promises of God, and you will dwell in the land, feasting on his faithfulness. v3

Give[c] God the right to direct your life,
and as you trust him along the way,
you’ll find he pulled it off perfectly! v5

For one day the wicked will be destroyed,
but those who trust in the Lord
will inherit the land v9

Psalm 37 TPT

Beloved, every season of your life is going to require more trust. If you can trust me with this then it will prepare you for the next battle of faith I will call you to wage. Be disciplined here. Have faith. Choose to trust. Choose to believe that I am reliable. Choose to believe that your obedience is never a waste of time. You may not understand, you may not see the fruit now, but just trust that I am preparing something for you that is so great.

But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9

This is not a waste of time. I am not a waste of your time. You will never regret putting your faith in a dependable God. The Creator of the Heavens and the Earth. Wait. Wait on me. Choose to wait. It is the better option.

Yet they say, “The Lord does not see, Nor does the God of Jacob [b]understand.”

Understand, you senseless among the people; And you fools, when will you be wise?

He who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He who formed the eye, shall He not see?

He who [c]instructs the [d]nations, shall He not correct, He who teaches man knowledge?

The Lord knows the thoughts of man, That they are futile.

Psalm 94:7-11 NKJV

I have said to myself, “my God does not see me. He does not understand my sufferings.” This is the heart of a fool.

Lord, your word reminds me that you have created my ears, you have formed the eyes. Surely if you created me, then surely you hear me and you see me!

If you instruct the nations, then I give you permission to correct me!

Teach me your ways. Teach me knowledge. Teach me the fear of the Lord for I know it is the beginning of wisdom.

You know all of my thoughts— the futility of my thinking.

Oh Lord, I repent.

Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O Lord, And teach out of Your law,

That You may give him rest from the days of adversity, Until the pit is dug for the wicked.

For the Lord will not cast off His people, Nor will He forsake His inheritance.

But judgment will return to righteousness, And all the upright in heart will follow it.

Psalm 94:12-14 NKJV

I am blessed for you have taught me your law! I praise you that I have rest even in the day of adversity. I will rest in your reliability, your dependability.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

Psalm 91:1-2 NKJV

I will rest.

God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits,
to the woman who diligently seeks.
It’s a good thing to quietly hope,
quietly hope for help from God.
It’s a good thing when you’re young
to stick it out through the hard times.

When life is heavy and hard to take,
go off by yourself. Enter the silence.
Bow in prayer. Don’t ask questions:
    Wait for hope to appear.
Don’t run from trouble. Take it full-face.
The “worst” is never the worst.

Lamentation 3:25-30 MSG

It all comes down to trust. Will you trust that I am preparing you for something great?

Will you trust me? Trust me.

When you have come to the end of yourself, it is the beginning of who I am.

Wait on the Lord.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
Phillipians 4:4
