The Snare of Entertainment

I head the Lord say, "

My children disrupt what I am doing in them when they fill their mind, heart, and soul with ungodly thoughts and images. My children seek to numb and distract from the discomfort that comes when I must Holy God comes to unsettle what is not of Me.

I want to sanctify My Children, yet My Children use movies, films, TV Shows, TikToks, and Reels to run from Me, to run from My Voice, to run from My Leading. I am not pleased.

Tell My Children to remove these apps from their phones, tell My Children to pursue a devotion life independent of the clutter and the noise. They don’t need more teachers, more influencers, more voices in their head, this will only produce more confusion.

This is why many of My Children struggle to go to sleep. There are too many voices. Tell My Children to (1) submit to leadership, (2) identify mentors, (3) cultivate genuine relationships with like-minded peers, and (4) let go of the social media junk yard of confusion for this separates them from Me and My Voice.

Beloved, the Lord has spoken.

Why do we continue to use entertainment to numb or emotions and run from God? It is not pleasing to Him. Several scriptures for your meditation:

If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell.

Matthew 5:29-30 ESV

To live like this is all the more urgent, for time is running out and you know it is a strategic hour in human history. It is time for us to wake up! For our full salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

Night’s darkness is dissolving away as a new day of destiny dawns. So we must once and for all strip away what is done in the shadows of darkness, removing it like filthy clothes. And once and for all we clothe ourselves with the radiance of light as our weapon. We must live honorably, surrounded by the light of this new day, not in the darkness of drunkenness and debauchery, not in promiscuity and sensuality, not being argumentative or jealous of others.

Instead, fully immerse yourselves into the Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, and don’t waste even a moment’s thought on your former identity to awaken its selfish desires.

Romans 13:11-14 TPT

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Galatians 5:16-26 ESV

Beloved, remove yourself from that which is dishonorable. Do not compromise the standard of the Lord. It is time to Raise Your Standard of Focus. It is time to Stop Making Excuses for the weight of sin that so easily trips us up (Hebrews 12:1-2).

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:1-2 ESV
